We drive actors to work on initiatives & cooperations by focusing on activation, participation and co-creation. The Bruges Food Lab has the food strategy of Bruges as guiding principles of its actions. More on those actions in our concept note

How it started

The Bruges Food Lab was founded in 2015 as a result of the Food Smart Cities for Development project. The city developed the Bruges food strategy ‘Bruggesmaakt’ and organised actions for it in co-creation with founding members of the Bruges food lab.

Since 2018, the Bruges Food Lab has evolved into an independent overarching platform with a divers scala of members. A representative steering group has been formed to strategically advice the organisation and guard the actions relevance to the food strategy. The founding paper can be found here.
